This vintage moroccan rug from the Talsint tribe is unique on several aspects.
First, it is quite hard find wide, real vintage moroccan rugs on the market. Real vintage moroccan rugs rarely come wider than 7feet, as they were made first for a private use and rooms in traditional houses are always quite narrow (+the traditional loom size is limited).
The background color is a burgundy that subtly turns to a cranberry red with bold black and greyish designs and series of diamonds or lozenges in a pistachio green.
The rug is handmade 100%, made of extra soft wool on a cotton base and is a high pile.
Approximate dimensions are 7.4x10.2feet / 225x310cm (no tassels).
The rug has been cut in the middle and reattached, probably to have it shortened. It was like this already when I found it and you cannot tell from the top of the rug.
Please note again that this rug is real vintage, meaning that it has been made first for a private use, not directly for the market. It will come with signs of wear. From the back of the rug you can see several fixes that aren't visible from the "good", fluffy side (see last picture). That said, the rug has been cleaned and is now in a good condition overall!
