Shipping is free to the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, Europe and UK!
If you live in another country, the shipping rate will be calculate during checkout.
We use to work with DHL. For special reasons we sometimes use FedEx. Both offer fast and safe delivery.
We ship worldwide from Marrakech, Morocco!
Sure! Once your package is shipped, we send you the shipping number so you can track your order and check delivery status.
It takes 5 working days maximum to ship your order, unless otherwise stated.
It usually takes 3 to 8 working days for an order to be received in the US.
A phone number is requested during the order process so the delivery company can contact you in case they need any extra information.
Customers are responsible for any extra tax or custom fees charged by their local government. Customers in the US won't have to pay for additional custom taxes, as there is a free trade agreement between the US and Morocco on crafts.
Customers in other countries may have to pay for extra import taxes. In this case you will be invoiced by DHL or FedEx. We recommend that you check with the customs authorities of your country before ordering.
We don't accept returns or exchanges, unless items have been damaged in transport.
Please note that most of the items we sell are vintage, meaning that they may come with imperfections due to their age or the way they've been made: all the items are handmade 100%. If there's anything special you need to know about the item, it will be specified in the listing. Also, we try to take the most honest pictures so you get a good idea of what the item really looks like.
However, we don't want our customers to be unsatisfied with their orders -we guess it can happen even if we do our best so it doesn't- so feel free to send us a message at contact@shkoonshop.com if there's anything wrong with your order.
Yes! All our rugs are cleaned before packing.
We need 3 full months to get your custom rug finished. That time line includes weaving then a long washing process that could not be skipped: the incredible softness of your rug is the result of several cleaning sessions.

The cleaning will depend on the type of your rug.
Traditionally in Morocco, rugs are weekly dusted outside by shaking them vigorously. For a deep cleaning, they are washed with soap and water and then left to dry in the sun.
But if you don't live in a country as sunny as Morocco, you can use some other methods: you can vacuum your rug regularly (most vacuum have a special mode for rug).
To remove a small stain, you could use a clean white cloth or sponge and treat with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of wool laundry detergent and 1 teaspoon of white vinegar in 1 litre of warm (not hot) water. Rinse with warm water, repeating treatment until no stain is evident.
Finally, the most efficient solution is to have your rug cleaned by a professional.
