This vintage Beni Mguild rug is a collector! The perfect rug to bring warmth and character to your space!
If you did your search here on Etsy, you already know that it is quite hard to find extra wide, real vintage moroccan rugs on the market. Real vintage moroccan rugs rarely come wider than 7feet, as they were made first for a private use and rooms in traditional houses are always quite narrow (+the traditional loom size is limited). That makes this specific rug a rare piece! This and the date 1980 that is woven into the pile (see last close-up picture) and is probably the year of making!
The rug shows a vibrant mix of warm purple and deep red, with traditional multiple diamond pattern in black, orange, cream. The intricate crosses give a great rhythm to the whole composition. The colors are original and have not been articially faded.
This rug is quite thick and heavy, made of wool 100%, medium pile.
Approximate dimensions are 7.9x13.7feet / 243x420cm (+tassels).
The rug has not been cut and comes in its original shape. One ending is a little damaged and needs to be straightened though.
This rug is obviously real vintage, meaning that it's been made first for private use, not directly for the market. It will come with light signs of wear. That said, it is in beautiful condition and shows no stains or too obvious flaws! Again it really is a unique rug!
